About Charity L. Cohen
Charity L. Cohen is a writer, storyteller and creative from Burlington, N.C.
Charity has always been a fan of a great story. From listening to her grandparents and parents tell tales about the past, to writing her own great adventures with characters from her vivid imagination as a child. Her earliest introductions to evocative storytelling were through the sermons she heard growing up in church and various types of music. Now, Charity uses storytelling as a vehicle to amplify the voices of those who have been silenced, over-looked, or disregarded. She is passionate about uplifting communities of color and enjoys finding ways to integrate her passions for music, entertainment and culture into stories.
She graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with a Bachelor of Arts in Media and Journalism in May 2022. She studied journalism at the UNC Hussman School of Journalism and Media as well as dramatic art at the Joan H. Gillings Center for Dramatic Art.
When she isn’t chasing stories, she loves to travel, read, try new food and experience new cultures. She also finds joy in talking about her favorite music, making her friends and family laugh, and going on random, one-off adventures.
